Lululemon is Anti-Asian
In 2004, Chip Wilson, Lululemon's founder, admitted that he created the name lululemon to mock Japanese people. Though Wilson is no longer involved with Lululemon, their current leadership refuses the discuss changing their name.
Lululemon is Anti-Black
In September 2023, six former Lululemon retail employees filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint alleging that Lululemon corporate fostered an environment where anti-Black racism flourished.
Lululemon is Anti-Muslim
In October 2023, Lululemon cropped Arab-American runner Amena Saad out of all of the photos from a pre-marathon photoshoot that she participated in. Though Saad contacted Lululemon's diversity, equity, and inclusion team, they did not give her "a clear or convincing explanation" for erasing her from their campaign.
